My first bike was a Green John Deere Pedal Tractor and every kid in my neighborhood wanted to ride it.
Yep solid metal. I was only seven or eight and that was many moons ago. I wish my parents would have held on to it. It's surely a collectable now.
Sadly I don't have it any more and can't remember what ever happened to it. I hope it didn't get destroyed and someone has it as a collectable.
Congrats on your soon to be new baby!
Heck Ya, I had one. Solid tractor. No plastic allowed. Wish I still had it. I'm expectin' my first son this July. Wish I held on to it. What ever happened to it??

I didnt have one but I knew kids that did and always wanted one,so when I had a son I bought him one,he is 14 now and we still have the tractor in the garage. It is probably not as well made as the original ones, but still is in good condition and was well used!I will save it for my sons kids now.Do you still have yours?

Do I get any credit for having an orange Alis-Chalmers pedal tractor? It was just like the one that my grandfather used on his farm, except that mine had a lot less horsepower and really wasn't very efficient for plowing.

My son had one of those tractors went he was about 8, he was always trying to repair it. Today at 49 he is a heavy equipment operator and has been since he got out of school. Do suppose it started with a little green tractor??

Oh, I loved the one I had at my grandparents. I had all but forgotten about those. I do remember I would get it stuck in the mud riding around the yard. I had to get off and pull it out, it just would not pedal through mud well. That and the ride on called inch worm (I think that was the name) were so much fun.
